WHAT ARE NOMASTYL®, ARSTYL® AND WALLSTYL® PRODUCTS MADE FROM?

NOMASTYL® cornices are made from  high quality, extruded closed-cell polystyrene (PS). ARSTYL®

ceiling roses are made from hard-cast polyurethane (PU). WALLSTYL® dado/

chair rails and skirtings are made from very high-density extruded closed-cell polymer (HDPS)

Dado rails and skirtings are impact resistant.

WHAT LENGTHS ARE NOËL & MARQUET PRODUCTS SUPPLIED IN?

All cornices, dado/chair rails and skritings are supplied in 2 meters lengths for ease of handling,

transport and storage. 2m lengths make installation by a single installer very convenient.

HOW ARE THEY JOINED?

Lengths of cornice are 'butt-joined' end-to-end with a  narrow bed of adhesive (2-3 mm) between the joined lengths forming an expansion joint.

​

HOW ARE THE JOINS TREATED / MASKED / CONCEALED?

Once the adhesive has dried, joins are sanded with fine sand paper (120 grit or greater) and masked with a thin layer of ADEFIX® P5 adhesive-filler. Once painted, joins are easily concealed.

HOW DO THE CORNICES STAY IN PLACE WHILE THE GLUE DRIES?

NOËL & MARQUET Cornices are lightweight and do not require nails to hold them in place. It is recommended however to use thin panel pins to temporarily support joints while the adhesive dries. Pins may also be used in the event of slight misalignment due to uneven surfaces during drying process.

WHAT GLUE IS RECOMMENDED?

We recommend the NMC ADEFIX® P5 '2-in-1" adhesive which serves as an adhesive-filler. ADEFIX® P5 bonds well to a variety of building surfaces including GIB, wood, tiles, wall-paper, glass and paint.

MUST NOËL & MARQUET PRODUCTS BE PAINTED?

Yes, products must be painted, no undercoating is required. Any water-based paints are suitable to be applied directly to the product without any primer.  Any solvent or oil-based paints, primers or pigmented sealers should be avoided as they will damage the polystyrene.

HOW DURABLE IS THE PRODUCT?

Both polyurethane and polystyrene products are very strong and durable. They will not chip or break if dropped. Cuts or dents can be sanded smooth or filled. The extruded polystyrene products (i.e. cornices) are most suited to areas where impact is not likely. Products will last indefinitely under normal conditions and cannot be damaged by water or moisture.

WILL THE PRODUCT CRACK?

NOËL & MARQUET products have been designed to accommodate building movement and will flex with the building without cracking or parting.  This is ideal in areas where seasonal ground or seismic movement is common.

IS THE PRODUCT ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?

Products are both solvent free, CFC free and are 100 % recyclable.
